I am excited to announce that my story “The Armor Embrace” is now available in the “Writers of the Future” anthology.

I had a great time at Good Day Sacramento talking about the thrill of having my story “The Armor Embrace” included in the Writers of the Future anthology. My short story “Claim Jumpers” will be included in the anthology “In a Cat’s Eye.” More details to come.

I am really excited to announce that “The Biting Sands” has made it into the “Young Explorer’s Adventure Guide.” 

StarShipSofa did such a great job with “Mountain Screamers” that I can’t wait to see what Far-Fetched Fables does with “Diamond Eyes.”

I am happy to announce that my novelette “Mountain Screamers” was recently part of the StarShipSofa Podcast…and they did it justice. Thanks to Tony C. Scott for doing such a great job hosting the episode and to Jonathan Sharp for his amazing narration (he read at a perfect pace and brought lively voices to the characters). StarShipSofa has a high standard for quality and I am excited to have had the opportunity to be part of their production!

“Mountain Screamers” first appeared in Asimov’s Science Fiction Magazine in August of 2014. You can read a review for my story at: SRRevue. “…nicely done, heartwarming story.”

Doug is excited to announce that “Diamond Eyes” is now available in the anthology “Here There Be Dragons.” This anthology can be purchased through Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Just type in the title and “Souza.”

The “Here There Be Dragons” anthology started as a writing contest through Wicked East Press in which Doug C. Souza won first place. Here’s the link announcing the winners:

Doug is extremely excited (understatement) to report that “Diamond Eyes” has won first place in the Wicked East Press writing contest. It will be featured in the soon to be released paperback.
